Assault victim tells police he was trying to confront car break-in suspect.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP – The Mason County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of the 100 block of North Nelson Road Sunday, July 7, at 1 p.m. to investigate an assault, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“The victim reportedly confronted a male subject who was allegedly attempting to break into a vehicle when he was assaulted,” Cole said. “The suspect fled on foot.”
