RIVERTON TOWNSHIP – A 28-year-old Ludington man who told Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies he was on meth and acid was arrested following a brief foot chase in the 4000 block of West Marrison Road Saturday, June 22, shortly before noon, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“The suspect claimed he had been ‘doing drugs including meth and acid,’ and was scared of the police,” Cole said. “He ran into the woods but ran back out thinking ‘the woods was full of cops’ and gave up.”

The man allegedly showed up at a residence, demanding water, the sheriff said. The resident and the suspect did not know each other. He was reportedly told to leave, and he walked into a barn on the property.

“Upon arrival of deputies, the suspect ran into the woods, but then ran back out toward the waiting deputies,” Cole said.
