Skateboarder hit on US 10.

BRANCH TOWNSHIP – A 28-year-old Branch man suffered an “incapacitating leg injury” when he was struck by an eastbound car while reportedly skateboarding in the eastbound lane of US 10, west of Landon Road, Wednesday, June 19, at 10 p.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Thomas Howard was transported by Life EMS to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital, Cole said.

Howard was struck by a 2002 Ford Focus driven by Connie Gwilliams, 42, of Walhalla, Cole said.

Responding to the scene were the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Branch Fire Department, Custer Fire Department and Life EMS.
