Obituary: Lucille Clara Polcin, 89, Ludington, formerly of Custer.

Lucille Clara Polcin, 89, of Ludington, formerly of Custer, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019.  

Lucille was born on April 30, 1930 in Custer, the daughter of Steve and Helen (Gimbuth) Deering.  She graduated from Custer High School, class of 1947, and was a switchboard operator until staying home to raise her children.

She dearly loved her late husband of 54 years, Lawrence Polcin and immediate and extended families. The lights of her life were her grandchildren Lauren, Michelle, and Louis. She enjoyed traveling and especially the annual trips to Branson, and recently just traveling in the local area.

Lucille is survived by her children, Doug (Tina) Polcin, Ron Polcin, and Sandra (Wray) Smallwood; grandchildren, Louis Polcin, Lauren (Matt Coyle) Cyr, and Michelle Cyr.

Preceding Lucille in death are her parents, Steve and Helen Deering; husband, Lawrence Polcin; sister, Helen Spence; and brothers, Stanley, Walter, Alex, Casimer, and Edward.

A mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Rev. Daniel DePew presiding, visitation starting at 12:30 p.m.  Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, June 12 from 5-7 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
