World Record!

LUDINGTON — Ludington earned its third world record Saturday when 1,558 people participated in the world’s largest dessert party at Rotary Park, breaking the previous Guinness record of 1,445 people, held by the baker Mr. Puff in Vadodara, India. The Downtown Ludington Board is the official record holder. The goal was to have 2,000 people participate, but 1,558 still breaks the record.

In 2016 House of Flavors Restaurant briefly held the world record for longest frozen dessert when an ice cream sundae stretched several blocks of Ludington Avenue.  The following year, Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital broke the record for the most people making sand angels at Stearns Park beach. In 2018, the Shoreline Cycling Club attempted to break the longest line of bikes, both moving and static but fell just short of the record.
