Obituary: Margaret Wise, 96, formerly of Ludington. 

Margaret Joyce (Anderson) Wise, born June 17, 1922 in Racine, Wis., formerly of Zion, Ill., and Ludington, went to be with her Lord May, 18, 2019.  She graduated from Moody Bible Institute of Chicago (MBI) in 1944 and married Donald Lemott Wise of Zion, Ill., later that year.  They celebrated their 74th anniversary last December.

  Margaret worked extensively with Child Evangelism Fellowship in Zion, taught Sunday school and Bible study classes in the Waukegan/Zion, Ill., area, and was involved in many women’s ministries.  While Don (former pastor of Union Grove (Wis.) Baptist Church) taught at MBI, Margaret volunteered as a “mentor mom” to the wives of men studying for church and missionary work, preparing the wives as effective ministry partners for their husbands.  As a writer she authored three cookbooks for entertaining small groups and two handbooks for planning banquets.  She was also an artist, specializing in oil paintings on both canvas and china.

She is survived by her children, Tim (Jean) of Grayslake, Ill., Larry (Becky) of St. Louis, Mo., and Ruth (Darrell) Storvik of Ludington; five grandchildren, Tim II (Melisa) of Annawan, Ill., Jon (Melissa) of Round Lake Heights, Ill., David (Kelly) of St. Louis, Amy (Neil) Jones of Collinsville, Ill., and Nate Storvik of Ludington; seven great-grandchildren, Uriah Rico, and Matthew, Joseph, Jaydn, Drew, Diego and Pablo Wise ; sister, Ruth (Andersen) Larsen of Montana; and brother, Thomas of Racine.  She was preceded in death by husband Don; her parents William and Tressie (Langlois) Andersen of Racine; brothers William and Robert Andersen of Racine; a grandson, Chad Storvik; and a great-grandson, Mateo Wise.

A memorial service for Margaret and her husband Don who passed away on Easter Sunday April 21, 2019 will be held 6 p.m.  Sunday June 2 at Victory Baptist Church, 4353 N. Stiles Road, Scottville (Victory Township).
