Several shoplifting arrests at Walmart over the weekend.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP – The Mason County Sheriff’s Office arrested five people for separate incidents of retail fraud (shoplifting) at Walmart over the weekend, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. Three of the five arrests involved the theft of liquor.

The first incident was Friday, May 24 at 4:58 p.m. when a 54-year-old Custer woman was arrested at Walmart for retail fraud following an investigation by MCSO and Walmart Loss Prevention (WLP).

On Saturday, May 25 at 3:10 p.m., ​a 29-year-old Fountain woman was arrested at Walmart for retail fraud following an MCSO/WLP investigation.

On Sunday, May 26 at 4:21 p.m., a 22-year-old Ludington man was arrested after a sheriff’s deputy, who had been working three different retail frauds at Walmart involving the alleged theft of liquor, spotted the suspect and initiated a traffic stop with knowledge of the Mason County warrant, Cole said. The suspect was also found to have two additional misdemeanor warrants in Muskegon County.

A 53-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for retail fraud at Walmart following an investigation by the MCSO and WLP Sunday, May 26 p.m.

On Monday, May 27, at 4:26 p.m., a 35-year-old Green Bay, Wisconsin woman was arrested at Walmart for retail fraud following an investigation by MCSO and WLP.
