EDEN TOWNSHIP — Alcohol and speed appear to have been a factor in a crash that resulted in a serious injury of the female driver early Saturday morning, May 11, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. Emergency crews were dispatched to the 5200 block of South Custer Road at 2 a.m. Cole said a preliminary investigation revealed a 2007 Ford F-150 pickup left the road and rolled over several times, ejecting the sole occupant. The woman was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital then flown by Aeromed helicopter to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids where she is in serious condition.

The name, age, or residence of the victim have not yet been released.

Emergency crews responding to the scene included Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Custer Fire Department, and Life EMS.
