LUDINGTON — A 32-year-old Ludington man has been arraigned in Mason County’s 79th District Court on charges of criminal sexual conduct first and third degree. Remington John-Paul Greiner, 308 E. Foster St., was arrested by Ludington Police Department earlier this week. According to Ludington Police Chief Mark Barnett, Greiner is accused of having a sexual relationship with a female that started when she was 15-years-old beginning December 31, 2017 until March 12, 2019.

“He was a house guest of a family and was known to the alleged victim,” Barnett said, adding that an arrest warrant was issued on April 17, 2019.

Greiner was jailed on April 25 and released that day on $15,000 bail with a 10% bond ($1,500).

Criminal sexual conduct (CSC) first degree (Michigan compiled law 750.520b) is an accusation that the accused engaged in sexual penetration with another person when the other person is at least 13-years-old and less than 16-years-old and is punishable by up to life imprisonment. CSC third degree (MCL 750.250d) is an accusation that the accused engaged in sexual penetration with another person if the other person is at least 13-years-old and under 16-years-old.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 15, 2019 at 11:15 a.m.
