Joe Lancour Memorial Scholarship Golf Scramble is May 31.

HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — The inaugural Joe Lancour Memorial Scholarship Golf Scramble will be held Friday, May 31 at Lincoln Hills Golf Club and Hemlock Golf Club. Lancour was a 2004 graduate of Ludington High School who was killed by small arms fire during an ambush in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan on Nov. 10, 2007 while serving in the U.S. Army as a specialist.

Lancour’s mother Starla Owens started the Joe Lancour Memorial Scholarship in 2009 which has been awarded to a Ludington High School graduate.
