Obituary: Ramona L. Myers, 65, of Ludington

Ramona L. Myers, 65, of Ludington passed away Monday, February 18, 2019. She was born May 5, 1953 in Imlay City to Charles and Mary Lou (Stenzel) Brewer.  She graduated from Imlay City Community High in 1971. After high school Ramona worker at Sun Crest Nursing Home in Lapeer for a few years until she started her career as a social worker for the State of Michigan. Ramona worked for the state for over 20 years until her retirement in 2004. After retiring, Ramona worked part time for Farm Bureau Insurance in Hart, Ludington, Manistee, and Scottville.

Ramona was very active in the Ludington United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Rug Ladies, the Altar Guild, secretary for the Ad Board, and office volunteer. Ramona enjoyed her many mission trips to Kentucky with the church as well.  She also volunteered at Hospitality Inc. and was an Emmaus member.

Ramona loved animals, especially her many dogs over the years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She could spin her own wool. She was a kind hearted soul who always had time to listen and help those in need.  She loved being a grandma. Ramona married Kirk Myers on December 11, 2004 at the Ludington United Methodist Church. They spent many happy years together.

Ramona will be greatly missed by her husband, Kirk; her son, Tony (Jude) Wagner of Norfolk, Va.; her stepchildren, Nicole (tony) Harvey, Kristina Myers, and Erik (Denise) Myers; her five grandchildren, Stephanie, Samantha, Sophia, Gabby, and Jacob; her three great-grandchildren, Hailey, RJ, and Amari, her siblings, Jack Brewer, Edith (John) Walters, Mary (David) Workman, William Brewer; her nephew, Gregory Brewer; and her aunt, Betty Voss; and many cousins.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 22, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington. A funeral will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Ludington United Methodist Church. Family will greet friends at the church starting at noon.

A graveside service will be held Monday, February 25, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Imlay Township Cemetery in Imlay City.

Memorial contributions in Ramona’s name may be directed to the Ludington United Methodist Church – Rug Ladies or Fences for Fido.
