Scottville commission passes marijuana ordinance.

SCOTTVILLE — On Monday the City Commission approved an ordinance that will prohibit the sale of recreational marijuana within the city, along with the use of marijuana in public places. The vote was 4-3 with commissioners Sue Petipren, Connie Duncil, and Bryan Benyo voting against it.

The commission also passed the first reading of a zoning ordinance banning the sale of marijuana and the use of it in public spaces within the city limit. The commission will hold a second reading in April. That ordinance also passed with 4-3 with commissioners Sue Petipren, Connie Duncil, and Bryan Benyo voting against it.
