LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

-Joseph Michael Leclair, 58, no address listed, pleaded guilty Feb. 6 to breaking and entering and was sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit for 90 days served.

-Jonathan Sherrod Soloman-Jones, 27, of 109 E. Foster St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Feb. 6 to malicious use of service provided by telecommunications service provider and was sentenced to 21 days in jail with credit for 21 days served; 180 days discretionary jail for one year; and $815 in fines/costs.

-David Joseph Scott, 40, of 3523 N. Stearns Rd., Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty Feb. 5 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OUIL) and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must complete alcohol highway safety education; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). A charge of careless driving was dismissed.

-William Andrew Battice, 32, of 5092 N. Victory Corners Rd., Victory Township, pleaded no contest Feb. 5 to OWIL and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must complete alcohol highway safety education; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS).

-Damien Jay Mitchell, 23, of 1567 W. Meisenheimer Rd., Riverton Township, pleaded guilty Feb. 5 to OUIL and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must attend the substance abuse disorder program; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS).

-Justin Lynn Koepnick, 36, of 21097 10 Mile Rd., Reed City, pleaded guilty Feb. 11 to transporting an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; 12 months of probation and $265 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Joshua Michael Halliday, 32, of 4527 S. Ludlow Ln., South Boardman, pleaded guilty Feb. 7 to unlawfully taking a deer and allowing another person to use his hunting license and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; hunting privileges revoked until 2021; 12 months of probation and $1,635 in fines/costs.

-Irene Guadalupe Gamez, 31, of 910 N. Washington Ave., Apt. 16, Ludington, pleaded guilty Feb. 5 to disorderly conduct and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must have substance abuse and/or mental health evaluation; no contact with the victim; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; must not enter establishments where alcohol is served by the glass; and $485 in fines/costs. A charge of assault and battery was dismissed.

-Amy Marie Mohr, 30, of 102 S. Main St., Scottville, pleaded no contest Feb. 5 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must obtain counseling at community mental health; and $595 in fines/costs. May perform 60 hours of community service in lieu of paying fines/costs.

-Katherine Serene Jensen, 60, of 924 E. Tinkham Ave., Apt. 216, Ludington, pleaded guilty Feb. 5 to larceny less than $200 and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $595 in fines/costs. May perform 60 hours of community service in lieu of paying fines/costs.

-Duane Charles Broughton, 48, no address listed, pleaded guilty Feb. 5 to larceny less than $200 and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $745 in fines/costs. May perform community service for half of fines/costs.

-Jennifer Ann Fitch, 33, of 504 Fifth St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Feb. 5 to public intoxication and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for two years; must attend AA two times per week for one year; no drugs/alcohol; may not enter establishments that serve alcohol by the glass; must continue current counseling program; and $485 in fines/costs.  A charge of breaking and entering was dismissed.

-Hiene Bert Zank, 52, of 181 S. Stephens Ave., Fountain, pleaded guilty Feb. 7 to improper license plates and was sentenced to pay $175 in fines/costs.

-Jacob Wayne Barton, 26, of 119 Birch Dr., White Could, pleaded guilty Feb. 11 to allowing a person to drive in violation of the motor vehicle code and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; 12 months of probation and $335 in fines/costs.

Dismissals

-Ernest Lee Lefevre, 39, of 917 N. Lavinia St., Ludington, had a charge of receiving and concealing stolen property dismissed without prejudice on Feb. 8. According to court records, “People cannot prove without cooperation of the codefendant.”
