Walk for Warmth to help with heating bills.

LUDINGTON — FiveCAP, Inc. will be hosting a two-mile charity walk to raise local, private funds that will assist families and senior citizens of Mason County with emergency heating needs.

The hardship on families and seniors is intensified by the severe impact of Michigan’s winter. Federal and state resources intended to assist with these heating-related emergencies have declined dramatically in recent years and continue to decline at an alarming rate, according to a release from FiveCAP.  Many families in need are not even eligible to receive traditional State or Federal assistance.  The gap leaves many families at risk.

FiveCAP, Inc. is seeking sponsorships and pledge participants (walkers) from local businesses, corporations, churches, community agencies and individuals in an effort to raise money to alleviate these problems on a community level.  All funds raised in Mason County are used specifically to meet heating emergency needs within Mason County and without administrative expense.

This year’s walk is Saturday, February 16, 2019 and will start at the Community Church, 109 N. Harrison, Ludington, MI.  Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.

To help us help those in need, please make your tax deductible check payable to “Mason County Walk for Warmth”.  Please mail your donation to FiveCAP, Inc., PO Box 37, Scottville, MI  49454 or drop it off at the office located at 302 N.
