60 kids participate in Shop with a Cop/Hero.

Last week 60 kids participated in the Shop with a Cop/Shop with a Hero program, which took place at Walmart and Meijer. Each child was given a gift card to Christmas shop for his/her family, including themselves.

Kids involved in the program are from every school in Mason County.  On top of shopping, everyone was also offered a Christmas tree courtesy of Nickelson Christmas Trees farm of Amber Township and provided a full Christmas meal that includes ham, potatoes, gravy, rolls and vegetables.

Once shopping was completed the kids enjoyed a Jimmy John’s sub while numerous community volunteers wrapped gifts.

The program was made possible by the donations and events held throughout the year that included the 2018 Pie Auction and the Ludington Police Department “Stache for Cash” (no shave) fundraiser, along with donations from many organizations.
