MCC student in custody following middle school bomb threat.

SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central schools are currently under lockdown following a bomb threat that was posted on social media by a Mason County Central Middle School student Friday morning, Nov. 30. Police, fire, and EMS personnel are on campus of the middle school. According to an alert to parents by the school, the student is in custody.

Personnel from Scottville Police Department and Mason County Sheriff’s Office are currently in the middle school.

Update: An updated alert from the school at 10:17 a.m. stated the investigators do not believe the threat is credible but to err on the side of caution, the Middle School students are being relocated while the Michigan State Police inspect the Middle School with a bomb sniffing dog. Students will be escorted to the new location by law enforcement and first responders.
