The suspect’s name is currently not being released until his arraignment. He also allegedly shot and shattered windows of two vehicles.

“The incident occurred while the school was unoccupied,” said Pentwater Police Chief Laude Hartrum. “At no time were students or citizens in any danger.”

“Pentwater police and the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office continued the investigation and executed a search warrant on a residence located in Pentwater Township on Wednesday evening,” states the Pentwater Police Department’s Facebook page. “Further evidence was uncovered and seized.

In addition to the two vehicle windows he allegedly shot out, there may be more. “The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two additional reports of windows being broken out,” PPD states.

“On Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, Pentwater Police Department assisted by the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of MDOP at Pentwater School. In addition to this report, the Pentwater Police

received two other reports of vehicle windshields being damaged.

“Pentwater Police Department began the investigation and immediately began working with school officials to review security camera video taken overnight. The tapes revealed one white male subject with a beard, driving what appeared to be a Ford Escape, firing a weapon in the direction of the damaged doors.

“The images were released through social media with a request for assistance in identifying the suspect. Soon after, Pentwater police began receiving tips as to the identity of the suspect.

“Pentwater police and the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office had been in communication since the investigation began and investigated the tip. The tip helped investigators identify the suspect, suspect car, and ultimately make an arrest.
