Darr Road bridges to re-open Tuesday.

SHERMAN TOWNSHIP — Two Darr Road bridges that have been under re-construction since June will be re-opened on Tuesday, Nov. 13, the Mason County Road Commission announced today.

The bridges are located between Sugar Grove and Mavis roads over the South Branch of the Lincoln River, and also south of Fountain Road over the North Branch of the Lincoln River. The bridge between Sugar Grove and Mavis has been closed since June 11 while the other bridge has been closed for several years and was removed by the construction contractor on July 31, 2018.

“There are still a few miscellaneous items of work that need to be completed, including final restoration,” Eric Nelson, county highway engineer, said. The $786,000 project has been funded by the Michigan Department of Transportation and the Mason County Road Commission.
