Oriole Foundation awards over $24,000 in grants.

LUDINGTON — The Ludington Area School District’s Oriole Foundation recently awarded $24,111.73 in grants during its recent grant cycle. Grant recipients included:

– Hands on Learning, teacher Heidi Urka, Franklin Elementary, $100

– We Love Ludington, Heidi Urka, Franklin Elementary, $600

– Sensory Obstacle Course, Katie Eisinger, Franklin Elementary, $921

– After school Arts and Engineering Club, Emily Kanine, Franklin and Lakeview elementary schools, $650

– Positive Behavior Interventions And Supports Tier 1, Jennifer Shaw, Lakeview Elementary, $400

– Teaching Math with Picture Books, Traci King, Lakeview Elementary, $112.53

– Logic of English, Kathy Larson, Karen Mazur, and Hallie Utter, Foster Elementary, $624

– Name That Book Project, Hamilton, Lakeview Elementary, $78

– Lexia Learning for Language Arts, Shelly Anderson, Foster Elementary, $2,700

– Fitness Tracker for Physical Education, Erika Etchison, OJ DeJonge Middle School, $900

– LASD Robots, Karen Schindeldecker, OJ DeJonge Middle School, $6,700

– Reading Across Curriculum – Art Scholastic, Jennifer McWilliams, OJDMS, $277

– 3-D Printer, Teresa Eriksen, OJDMS, $7,552.70

– Snowy Owl/Pileated Woodpecker Exhibit, Mark Willis, Ludington High School, $1,800

– Watercraft and Personal Flotation Devices, Deb Follrath, LHS, $696.50.

The Oriole Foundation held one of its major fundraisers Saturday evening, Dancing with the Local Stars, which raised over $50,000.
