Hansen and Hoague roads to undergo construction projects.

SCOTTVILLE — The Mason County Road Commission announced today that two roads, Hansen Road in Amber Township, and Hoague Road in Grant Township, will undergo construction over the next several weeks.

Hansen Road near Dennis Road will be pulverized resulting in an aggregate roadway starting Tuesday, July 17. The work will be completed with flag control during the initial stage. Following, the road commission will be completing a grade lift and installing a culvert to improve drainage. The section will remain gravel for several weeks until the grade lift is placed and the road is paved.

Hoague Road between LaSalle and Amber roads, will also be under construction starting Tuesday, July 17. About 250 feet of the road will be pulverized into an aggregate roadway.

In the upcoming weeks, the MCRC will be installing a sand lift wrapped with geotextile, installing aggregate base with geogrid to improve the existing roadway. The settlement that has occurred in this section of roadway is due to underlying soft soils and several years of traffic. This section will remain gravel for several weeks until a grade lift is placed and the road is paved.

Traffic should seek alternate routes for both roads or be prepared for delays.
