Ludington school board expected to hire two new teachers Monday.

LUDINGTON — The Ludington Area School District’s Board of Education is expected to hire two new teachers when it meets in regular session on Monday, July 16 at 6 p.m.

Superintendent Jason Kennedy is recommending the hiring of Rebecca (Bekki) Moser as a fifth grade teacher at Foster Elementary and Sarah Foster as a Ludington High School special education teacher.

Moser has most recently been employed at Ludington Area Catholic Schools and has served as vice president of Foster Elementary PTC. “Mrs. Moser comes highly recommended from numerous Ludington Area Schools employees and through reference checks,” Kennedy stated to the board in pre-meeting notes. “One reference stated, ‘Bekki’s greatest strength is that she cares about the kids.’ This is the single most important aspect of teaching. The committee saw this in the interview and felt that Mrs. Moser would be a great fit for Foster Elementary School and the fifth grade team.”

Moser has a bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University with a major in elementary education and minors in English language arts and social studies.

Foster has most recently taught at Mason County Eastern Schools and had taught at Grant Middle School. She has also coached soccer and volleyball. She has a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University with an emphasis in special education. She holds a K-12 certificate along with endorsements in cognitive impairments, early childhood education, and communications disorders.

The board meets at the Central Business Office/Administrative Building, 809 E. Tinkham Ave.
