22 racers participated in Spartan River Run.

SCOTTVILLE — The inaugural Spartan River Run held last Saturday, July 7, included 22 racers and 19 vessels. The event, sponsored by the Mason County Central Education Foundation and Paddle Sports Factory Outlet, took place on the Pere Marquette River, where racers started at Custer Road Bridge and ended at Riverside Park. It was part of the 10 & 31 Celebration and was a fundraiser for the foundation.

Gwenn Stevenson was the overall fastest vessel on the river with a time of 46 minutes, five seconds. She won the female over 50 single person kayak division. All of the racers enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and awards.
