Road commission appoints interim director, hires engineer.

SCOTTVILLE — Mary Samuels has been appointed as the acting manager/director of the Mason County Road Commission, effective July 1. Samuels, who has held the position of clerk of the road commission for 19 years, will serve in the interim following the resignation of Wayne Schoonover. Samuels is also Summit Township clerk.

The Road Commission has also recently hired Eric R Nelson as county highway engineer. Nelson graduated with honors from Tri-State University, with a bachelor’s of science degree in civil engineering and brings to the Mason County Road Commission over 24 years of professional service in the engineering and construction field.
