SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central’s Board of Education will consider hiring Rob Dennis as its new middle school principal when the board meets in regular session Monday, July 9.

Dennis is currently the elementary principal at Baldwin Community School. Dennis is a graduate of Ludington High School, Central Michigan University and Aquinas College. He has taught at Mason County Eastern and Kingsley. He has been at Baldwin since 2011 and served as administrator/behavior specialist before becoming principal.

The board will initially meet at 5:45 p.m. in the high school conference room where it will interview candidates, in open session, to fill a board vacancy left by Randy Saxton, who resigned after serving 26 years on the board.

The board is expected to make its appointment during its regular meeting. The board will hold an organizational meeting at 6:45 p.m. and then its regular meeting will follow at 7 p.m.

The board is also expected to approve the hiring of Becky Gerhart as high school English teacher, replacing Linnea Miller, who has retired.
