VICTORY TOWNSHIP — The fifth annual Law Dogs vs. Smoke Eaters (cops vs. firefighters) hockey game is this Saturday, April 28 at the West Shore Community Ice Arena, located on the campus of West Shore Community College. Proceeds from the event raise money for the Mason County Fire Relief Fund, which is gives financial support to victims of fires in Mason County.

The hockey game begins at 6:30 p.m. and doors open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is by goodwill offering. The event also features silent auction items, a chuck a puck contest and many other great ways for you to give.

“It’s always a good time and it certainly a good cause,” said Justin Melchert of Hamlin Township Fire Department, and one of the event organizers. “Last year we raised over $6,000. These are funds that help out our friends and neighbors in the worst of times. Nobody wants to lose their home to a fire, but it’s at least a little reassuring to know that this fund can help people get back on their feet.”

Those wishing to mail a donation, may send a check to Mason County Fire Relief Fund, PO Box 94, Custer, MI 49401.
