79th District Court sentencings.

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 79th District Court:

– Shannon George Courtland, 29, of 2190 N. LaSalle Rd., Amber Township, was found guilty April 10 of assault and battery and was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for three days served; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; no alcohol; subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs); court reserves the right for substance abuse testing; no contact with the victim; and $595 in fines and costs.

– Willis Ray Stewart, 58, of 9553 N. Stephens Rd., Free Soil Township, was found guilty April 16 of failure to remove platform/steps and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $185 in fines and costs.

– Brian Murray Nelson, 60, of 7979 E. US 10, Branch Township, was found guilty April 16 of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served and $285 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

– Glenn Thomas Petoskey, 58, of 6576 W. Sugar Grove Rd., Hamlin Township, was found guilty April 16 of stray dog – loose/running dog and was sentenced to $175 in fines and costs.

– Michael John Posma, 28, of 1388 W. Sugar Grove Rd., Victory Township, was found guilty April 12 of open intoxicants – passenger and was sentenced to $265 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Dismissals

– Malcolm Andrew King, 29, of 139 E. St. Louis St., Idlewild, one count of breaking and entering – illegal entry was dismissed April 9. “Matter does not need to be prosecuted in the interests of justice,” his court file states.

– Tina Ann Rose, 37, of 310 Main St., Custer, one count of operating without insurance was dismissed April 9. “Situation corrected with proper insurance now,” her court file states.
