51st Circuit Court sentencings, posted March 23, 2018.

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 51st Circuit Court:

Fargo

– Michael Thomas Fargo, 40, of 694 W. Sugar Grove Rd., Victory Township, was found guilty Dec. 19, 2017 of third-degree fleeing a police officer and third-offense habitual offender and was sentenced March 20 to two and a half to 10 years in prison with credit for two days served in jail and $258 in fines and costs. Charges of carrying a concealed weapon, second-offense driving while license suspended (DWLS) and fourth-offense habitual offender were dismissed. In a separate case, Fargo was found guilty Dec. 19, 2017 of delivery/manufacture of marijuana, cocaine/narcotic possession less than 25 grams and third-offense habitual offender and was sentenced March 20 to two to eight years in prison and $266 in fines and costs. Charges of maintaining a drug house and fourth-offense habitual offender were dismissed. Both cases run concurrently.

Mark Wemple

– Mark Allen Wemple, 60, of 2528 E. Broadway Ave., Muskegon, was found guilty Jan. 23 of third-degree fleeing a police officer, third-offense operating while intoxicated (OWI), two counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and second-offense habitual offender and was sentenced March 13 to concurrent terms of two years to seven and a half years in prison and one and a half years to three years in prison with credit for 189 days served in jail; $1,194.74 restitution; and $637 in fines and costs. OWI conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). Charges of assault with a weapon, second-offense DWLS and open intoxicants were dismissed.

Lauterwasser

– Nicholas Brian Lauterwasser, 25, of 7895 W. US 10, Branch Township, pleaded “no contest” Jan. 17 to third-offense domestic violence and interfering with electronic communications and was found guilty by the court of fourth-offense habitual offender. Lauterwasser was sentenced March 13 to concurrent prison terms of two years and three months to 25 years and two years and three months to 15 years and $266 in fines and costs. His sentence runs consecutively to any parole violation sanctions he receives.

Sanchez

– Jose Antonio Sanchez, 24, of 117 E. Sable Rd., Free Soil Township, was found guilty Jan. 31 of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and was sentenced March 13 to serve 45 days up front of a 270-day discretionary jail term with credit for 44 days served; 18 months probation; and $685 in fines and costs.

Amber Huck

– Amber Ruth Huck, 28, of 7008 Oakridge St., Fountain, was found guilty Jan. 23 of narcotic/cocaine possession less than 25 grams and was sentenced March 13 to serve 77 days up front of a 180-day discretionary jail term with credit for 77 days served; 18 months probation; driver’s license suspended 180 days/restricted after 30 days; and $658 in fines and costs. A second count of narcotic/cocaine possession less than 25 grams was dismissed.

Chavez

– Jesus Maria Chavez, 18, of 603 S. Washington Ave., Ludington, was found guilty Jan. 31 of attempted accosting a child for immoral purposes and harboring a runaway and was sentenced March 13 to serve five months up front of a one-year discretionary jail term with credit for 122 days served; two years probation; and $708 in fines and costs. One count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct (CSC) was dismissed.
