51st Circuit Court sentencings, posted March 15, 2018.

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 51st Circuit Court:

Brault

– Marvin Lee Brault III, 28, of 2273 N. Tallman Lake Rd., Sheridan Township, was found guilty Dec. 19, 2017 of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder/assault by strangulation and was sentenced March 6 to serve six months up front of a one-year discretionary jail term with credit for 122 days served; 18 months probation; and $658 in fines and costs. Work release must meet Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) guidelines. Felony counts of attempted murder and first-degree home invasion were dismissed.

Hamilton

– Justin Michael Hamilton, 29, of 3574 E. Fountain Rd., Sheridan Township, was found guilty Jan. 2 of second-offense marijuana possession and was sentenced March 6 to serve three months up front of a one-year discretionary jail term with credit of three days served; two years probation; driver’s license suspended one year/restricted after 60 days; and $658 in fines and costs. Work release must meet MCSO guidelines. One count of delivery/manufacture of marijuana and one count of fourth-offense habitual offender were dismissed.

Harvey

– Derek Justin Harvey, 30, of 470 Fourth St., Manistee, was found guilty Jan. 2 of delivery/manufacture of marijuana and was sentenced March 6 to serve 60 days up front of a one-year discretionary jail term with credit for one day served; four months electronic monitoring after release from jail; 18 months probation; driver’s license suspended one year/restricted after 60 days; and $658 in fines and costs. Work release must meet Manistee County Sheriff’s Office guidelines. One count of maintaining a drug house and second-offense delivery/manufacture of marijuana were dismissed.

Brinkman

– Matthew Todd Brinkman, 41, of 4487 N. Hammett Rd., Pentwater, was found guilty Dec. 19, 2017 of third-offense operating while intoxicated and second-offense habitual offender and was sentenced March 6 to serve eight month up front of a one-year discretionary jail term with credit for 139 days served; two years probation; 480 hours of community service; one year vehicle immobilization if still in operation; and $1,333 in fines, costs and restitution. Work release must meet MCSO guidelines. One count of driving while license suspended and one count of third-offense habitual offender were dismissed.

Escamilla

– Avel Molina Escamilla, 55, of 5634 W. Johnson Rd., Pere Marquette Township, was found guilty Dec. 19, 2017 of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and third-offense habitual offender and was sentenced March 6 to serve six months up front of a one-year discretionary jail with credit for 123 days served; Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitoring (SCRAM) for 120 days after release from jail; two years probation; and $658 in fines and costs. One count of fourth-offense habitual offender was dismissed.

Kerricks

– Fremont Kerricks, 34, listed as homeless, was found guilty Dec. 19, 2017 of larceny in a building, marijuana possession and fourth-offense habitual offender and was sentenced March 6 to one year in jail with credit for 132 days served; two years probation; driver’s license suspended 180 days/restricted after 30 days; and $508 in fines and costs.
