51st Circuit Court sentencings.

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 51st Circuit Court:

Newman

– David G. Newman, 44, of 417 Sixth St., Grand Rapids, was found guilty of probation violation and sentenced Jan. 4 to serve two to 30 years in prison with credit for 382 days served in jail and $598 in fines and costs. His probation stems from May 15, 2013 convictions of first-degree retail fraud and fourth-offense habitual offender.

– Bryan Jacob Carroll, 34, of 506 Melendy St., Ludington, pleaded “no contest” Nov. 28 to operating/maintaining a laboratory involving methamphetamine and was sentenced Jan. 2 to six to 40 years in prison with credit for zero

days served in jail and $258 in fines and costs. Sentence runs consecutively to any parole violation sanctions he receives. Counts of purchasing pseudoephedrine/ephedrine, using a computer to commit a crime and third-offense habitual offender were dismissed.

 

Ross

– Bethany Nicole Ross, 25, of 163 N. Amber Rd., Scottville, was found guilty of probation violation Jan. 2 and was sentenced to serve five months up front of a six-month discretionary jail term with credit for 53 days served and $658 in fines and costs. Ross’ deferred 7411 status was revoked. She must report to Community Mental Health for residential treatment upon her release from jail.
