Obituary: David L. Fye, 68, Baldwin. 

David L. Fye, 68, of Baldwin passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at his home.  David was born on July 4, 1949 in Kalamazoo, the son of Clarence and Roseabelle (Hawkins) Fye.  After graduating high school, David served his country during the Vietnam Conflict with the United States Army.  He continued his service working for the Veterans Administration in Arizona before beginning a career as a long haul truck driver for over 30 years.  On May 5, 2007, he married Dianna (Lewis) Vincent in Free Soil, and they have celebrated 10 joyful years together.

Due to Agent Orange exposure during Vietnam, David was forced into early retirement where he was able to enjoy his summers camping and fishing at Timber Line Campground in Benzonia with Dianna.  He was a Life Member of the DAV, the Baldwin AmVets Post 1988, and the Custer Gold Bar VFW Post 5096.  David was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kathy, and his sisters Sharon Haynes and Pam Fye.

David will be greatly missed by his wife Dianna and her children Stacy (Josh) Wright of Scottville, Charles Rose, and Jasmine Sabin both of Baldwin, his brothers Michael and Clifton Fye both of Kalamazoo, his sisters Julie Abrams of Kalamazoo, and Sandy Kettle of Baldwin, along with several nieces and nephews and many good friends.

Funeral services will be held for David at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2 at Wyman Funeral & Cremation Services – Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville with his pastor and friend Rev. Bruce Whitney officiating.  Burial with Honors will take place at Sugar Grove Cemetery in the spring.  Friends may meet with his family for a time of visitation on Tuesday afternoon from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.  Those who wish to remember David with a memorial donation are asked to consider the American Cancer Society.
