LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

-Steven Donald Makowicki, 52, of 504 E. Danaher St., Apt. 4, Ludington, pleaded guilty December 5 to operating a vehicle with a high blood alcohol content and was sentenced to 35 days in jail with credit for five days served; 180 days discretionary jail for two years; must attend victim’s impact panel; must obtain Soberlink for vehicle for one year; no drugs/alcohol; must attend AA two times per week for two years; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; must obtain substance abuse counseling; and $1,685 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). Charges of third-offense operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor (OUIL) and refusing a preliminary breath test were dismissed.

-Tyler Alden Catton, 23, of 1624 N. Hunt Rd., Carsonville, Michigan, pleaded guilty December 5 to operating a vehicle with a high blood alcohol content and was sentenced to 23 days in jail with credit for two days served; 180 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must seek and maintain employment; must obtain substance abuse counseling; and $1,325 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. Charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI), second-offense driving while license suspended (DWLS), transporting an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle, and improper lane usage were dismissed.

-Isis Latrae Steward, 39, of 8076 Hemlock, Baldwin, pleaded no contest December 5 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OWIL) and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year; 33 hours of community service within six months; no drugs/alcohol; must attend AA two times per week for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; must continue current counseling program; and $1,025 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A charge of operating with the presence of drugs was dismissed.

-Latasha Monique Boatwright, 36, of 8555 W. Bittersweet Ave., Baldwin, pleaded guilty December 5 to possession of marijuana and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail for one year; driver’s license suspended for 180 days and restricted for 150 days; and $535 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Jazeron Charles Knowles, 25, of 191 Baldwin Rd., Idlewild, pleaded guilty December 6 to using a controlled substance and was sentenced to 16 days in jail with credit for 16 days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; driver’s license suspended for 180 days and restricted for 150 days; and $600 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A charge of possession of analogues was dismissed.

-Timothy Eric Smogoleski, 35, of 1209 S. Washington Ave., Ludington, pleaded guilty December 6 to disorderly person jostling and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; and $285 in fines/costs. A charge of assault and battery was dismissed.

-Kelly Rae Robbins, 34, of 6670 E. US 10, Walhalla, pleaded guilty November 27 to DWLS and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year; may not operate a vehicle until legally able to do so; 12 months of probation; and $285 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Jeffrey Michael Burns, 31, of 7922 E. Shoshone, Branch Township, pleaded guilty December 7 to operating an ORV in a closed area and was sentenced to pay $220 in fines/costs.

-Chad Michael Viening, 34, of 4493 N. 68th Ave., Hart, pleaded guilty December 7 to operating an ORV in a closed area and was sentenced to pay $220 in fines/costs.

-Alfonso Narvaez, 40, of 502 N. Harrison St., Ludington, pleaded guilty December 7 to failure to display a valid driver’s license and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served, and $275 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Larry Allen Larr, 71, of 2590 S. Custer Rd., Custer Township, pleaded guilty December 7 to transporting an uncased bow/firearm in a vehicle and was sentenced to pay $255 in fines/costs.
