AMBER TOWNSHIP — Three people were taken to the hospital following a two vehicle crash on US 10-31 near Dennis Road Sunday afternoon. The crash was reported about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22. It involved a Chevrolet Sonoma pickup truck and a Ford Escape SUV. According to Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies on scene, both vehicles were westbound on US 10-31, just east of Dennis Road, when the Ford apparently started hydroplaning on the wet road, causing the vehicles to collide. The Chevrolet was occupied solely by its male driver while the Ford was occupied by two males and a female. Two of the occupants of the Ford were transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital while one of the occupants was privately transported to the hospital, according to Sgt. Shayne Eskew of the sheriff’s office. The driver of the Chevrolet refused medical treatment. The female passenger of the Ford was reported to be pregnant and complaining of abdominal pains.

Responding to the scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Scottville Fire Department, Ludington Fire Department, and Life EMS ambulance.
