LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

-Kayla Jean Johnson, 25, of 494 S. Pere Marquette Highway, Ludington, pleaded guilty September 12 to distribution of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 40 days in jail with credit for 40 days served; one year discretionary jail for two year; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; driver’s license suspended for 180 days and restricted for 150 days; and $915 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). Charges of fourth-degree child abuse, allowing consumption of drugs/alcohol by minors on premises, third-degree retail fraud, and prowling were dismissed.

-Jordan Louis Kuenzer, 20, of 1509 Maywood Ave., Manistee, pleaded guilty September 12 to operating a vehicle while impaired by a controlled substance and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; must attend alcohol highway safety education; and $935 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Joshua Taylor Myers, 21, of 1245 N. LaSalle Rd., Amber Township, pleaded guilty September 12 to operating a vehicle while impaired by a controlled substance and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; must attend alcohol highway safety education; and $1,000 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Clayton Alan Kitchens, 24, of 5955 Shagway Rd., Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty September 12 to operating a vehicle with a high blood alcohol content and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 180 days discretionary jail for two years; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; must attend alcohol highway safety education; and $1,530 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI) was dismissed.

-Rafael Marrufo, 38, of 3261 Burlingame Ave. SW, Wyoming, pleaded guilty September 5 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OWIL) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must attend a six-session alcohol education treatment program; and $870 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Markus Charles Kokx, 22, of 1008 Monona Dr., Ludington, pleaded guilty September 12 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OWIL) and failure to stop after an accident. He was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for three days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; must attend AA for one year; no drugs/alcohol; must obtain substance abuse counseling; and $1,020 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A charge of refusing a preliminary breath test was dismissed.

-Anna Marie Ruiz, 57, of 3729 Dunbar Ave. SE, Wyoming, Mich., pleaded guilty September 5 to embezzlement by an agent or trustee and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served and $538 in fines/costs.

-Phillip James Seegert, 30, of 2905 Skyline Dr., Crystal Lake, Illinois, pleaded guilty September 6o to operating a vehicle while impaired by a controlled substance and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; must have substance abuse evaluation; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; and $1,230 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. Charges of possession of analogues and operating with the presence of a controlled substance were dismissed.

-Erick Michael Smith, 30, of 11220 N. Custer Rd., Free Soil Township, pleaded guilty September 12 to OWIL and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; must complete alcohol highway safety education; and $870 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A charge of transporting an open intoxicant in a vehicle was dismissed.

-Shawn Lowrey, 40, of 1241 21st St. NW, Canton, Ohio, pleaded guilty September 14 to operating an ORV in a prohibited area and was sentenced to pay $185 in fines/costs.

-Dakota Wayne Moody, 20, of 4555 S. Ordway, Eden Township, pleaded guilty September 14 to operating an ORV in a careless manner and was sentenced to pay $255 in fines/costs.

-Thomas Lynn Harrington, 68, of 6720 124th St., Fennville, pleaded guilty September 14 to transporting an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle and was sentenced to pay $265 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Jason Robert Hippler, 42, of 8077 Windy Lane NW, Massillon, Ohio, pleaded guilty September 14 to operating an ORV in a prohibited area and was sentenced to pay $185 in fines/costs.

-Michelli Lynn McCarty, 39, of 2904 Granstyn Trl., Branch, pleaded guilty September 14 to selling tobacco to a minor and was sentenced to pay $260 in fines/costs.

-Jason Michael Jones, 38, of 129 W. Ludington Ave., Apt. 3, Ludington, pleaded guilty September 12 to public urination and was sentenced to pay $285 in fines/costs.
