Motorcyclist dies after presumably hitting deer in Branch Township.

BRANCH TOWNSHIP — A 27-year-old Mason County man died Sunday night after the motorcycle he was riding appeared to have struck a deer. The crash, was reported to 911 about 8 p.m., occurred on Decker Road west of Tyndall Road near the Mason-Lake counties line. The motorcycle was westbound on Decker Road at the time of the crash, according to Mason County Sheriff Sgt. Oscar Davila.

The name of the victim will be released in the morning, pending notification by law enforcement of immediate family members.

Responding to the scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Branch Township Fire Department, and Life EMS.
