Christian singer/songwriter Paul Baloche to perform July 30.

LUDINGTON – Internationally-renowned Christian music singer/songwriter Paul Baloche will perform a free concert at Waterfront Park on Sunday, July 30 at 6 p.m. Baloche will be accompanied by Belfast native Jonny Wright who won for best song at the May 5 Christian Songwriters’ Invitational and Concert in Ludington.

Wright will open the concert, performing his award-winning song “To Live is Christ” as well as other original compositions. Wright was one of nine songwriter teams selected to compete at the songwriters’ invitational out of 390 song submittals, with applicants from 42 states and nine countries. In addition to playing at this concert, Wright receives a publishing contract with Nashville-based Integrity Music.

“I’m so grateful to Waterfront Worship for making this all possible,” said Wright. “Being part of the songwriting event with Paul was such a privilege, and to get to play outdoors on the same stage is an incredible honor. My wife and I can’t wait to be back in Ludington and to experience this amazing event with the community.”

Baloche will play the rest of the concert, which is expected to run until approximately 8 p.m. A three-time Dove Award winner, Baloche is best known for penning contemporary Christian hymns like “Above All,” “A New Hallelujah,” “Open the Eyes of My Heart,” “Hosanna” and “Your Name.”

The July 30 concert is sponsored by Waterfront Worship, a group of Ludington community professionals interested in bringing people together to celebrate Christian music and songwriting.

“We wanted to create a Christian music concert that focuses on great songs and songwriting,” said Emma Martin, event coordinator for Waterfront Worship. “It is thrilling to bring such top-caliber Christian music to the region for the community to enjoy, right near the shores of Lake Michigan.”

The concert is free to the public, but donations will be received for HELP Ministry, a Ludington non-profit that provides assistance to local families in need.
