Distracted driving blamed for Victory crash.

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — A 19-year-old Ludington woman was transported by ambulance to the hospital after a single vehicle crash on Victory Drive Friday afternoon. According to Mason County Sheriff Sgt. Mike Hanson, on scene, the woman was driving a Saturn Vue SUV eastbound on Victory Drive when she became distracted. The vehicle then crossed the centerline and drove into a ditch on the north side of the road. The vehicle came to a rest about 150 feet later in the middle of Peterson Road. The crash caused considerable damage to the front end of the vehicle.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital by Life EMS ambulance.

Responding to the scene was Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, and Hamlin Township Fire Department.
