GRANT TOWNSHIP — Freeman Creek Equipment, 7511 N. US 31, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in business Saturday with a customer appreciation day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Owner Jeff Patulski said he’s buying lunch.

“This is an opportunity for us to thank our customers and potential customers for the support over the past 10 years,” Jeff says. “We are inviting people to come out, grab lunch, and look around and see what we have.”

The dealership sells equipment made by Kubota, eXmark, Cub, and Stihl.

“I started this business because I saw a need for a tractor dealer to serve the small farmer, recreational farmer, and estate owner in Mason, Manistee, and Oceana counties,” Jeff says. “I used to buy used John Deere tractors and would fix them up and then put them up for sale just down the road here on 31. Then, one day a representative from Kubota stopped by and asked if I was interested in becoming a dealer. He gave me three tractors to try out on the farm for a couple of months. It’s been a great company to work with and it makes great equipment.”

Jeff says the dealership has been well received by the public and has seen tremendous growth in recent years. “I had no idea that there were that many people to take care of who had 5 to 10 acres of land. We have grown 300% in the last five years and have expanded our market to include Muskegon and Benzie counties.
