Carpenter resigns from county board; applicants sought for appointment. 

LUDINGTON — During the regular meeting of the Mason County Board of Commissioners Tuesday, District 2 Commissioner Bill Carpenter announced his resignation from that position. Carpenter has recently sold his home and will be moving out of the district.

The board is seeking to fill the position by appointment for the remainder of the term, which expires on Dec. 31, 2018.

Interested applicants must be a registered voter and a resident of the Mason County Commissioner District 2, which includes City of Ludington wards 4, 5, and 6. A letter of interest and resume may be submitted no later than 2 p.m. local time on July 5, 2017 to: Mason County Clerk’s Office-District 2 Commissioner, 304 E. Ludington Ave., Ludington, MI 49431

The appointment will be made at the 9 a.m. Board of Commissioners meeting on July 11, 2017. Interested applicants should plan on attending the meeting to address the board.
