Attempted fraud tops police activity Tuesday.

BRANCH TOWNSHIP — The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a case of attempted fraud that was reported Tuesday, June 13, at 9:48 a.m. in the 8800 block of East US 10.
“The victim reported that they attempted to sell a bunk bed on ‘Offer Up’ for $60,” according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. “The ‘purchaser’ sent a fraudulent check in the amount of $1,150 offering $50 for the bed and another $50 for the seller to keep. The complainant was then asked to send the balance to an address in Nevada.”

  • 9:38 p.m., (LPD), domestic assault, 1300 block of South Sherman Street, City of Ludington.
  • 11:10 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injuries, Victory Corners and Groth roads, Victory Township.
