LUDINGTON — The Scottville Clown Band will perform its first local public concert Wednesday at Waterfront Park beginning at 7 p.m. The annual concert is hosted by the Ludington Area Jaycees and will feature a dedication to this year’s Ludington Area Jaycees Freedom Festival Grand Parade Marshals, the Ludington High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team and its coach, Thad Shank.

The concert will also feature the 2017 recipients of the Clown Band’s Raymond Schulte Memorial Scholarships, middle school and high school students who will use the funds to attend summer music education programs, the majority attending Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in northern Muskegon County.

The Clown Band will also take up a collection for its George F. Wilson Memorial Endowment Fund, a fund established at the Community Foundation for Mason County to hold money in perpetuity for future scholarship recipients. The Band has achieved 20% of its $100,000 goal.

Those who wish to contribute, but are unable to attend, are asked to send money to Scottville Clown Band, PO Box 21, Scottville, MI 49454.

Members of the Jaycees will be selling concessions along with 2017 Freedom Festival t-shirts.
