LUDINGTON — A 33-year-old Ludington man was sentenced to four and a half to 20 years in prison for a conviction of methamphetamine possession and fourth-offense habitual offender Tuesday, May 30, in 51st Circuit Court.

Jayden Vernon Lafreniere, of 910 N. Harrison St., was initially charged with delivery/manufacture of meth and three other possession charges, but those were dismissed in a plea agreement last month.

Lafreniere has previous convictions of car theft, resisting police and marijuana delivery, according to his court file. Due to his criminal history, his maximum possible sentence was life in prison.
