LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

-Stephanie Lynn Wheeler, 24, of 6537 E. Glen Ln., Sheridan Township, pleaded guilty May 3 to giving false information to a police officer, driving while license not valid, and improper license plates. She was sentenced to 22 days in jail with credit for 22 days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and $285 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). Charges of failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) and unlawful use of a motor vehicle were dismissed.

-Jordan Michael Sanders, 22, of 305 N. Robert St., Ludington, pleaded guilty May 4 to disorderly person – public intoxication and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days already served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; 12 months of probation; and $285 in fines/costs.

-Tonya Lynn Gathers, 46, of 2428 Wood St., Muskegon, pleaded guilty May 2 to third-degree retail fraud and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days already served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and $665 in fines/costs.

-Kerri Lynn Hargett, 42, of 1101 Daisy Ln., Pere Marquette Township, pleaded guilty May 2 to failure to stop after an accident and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $330 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A charge of failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) was dismissed.

-Richard Lee West, Sr., 72, of 416 W. Beyer Rd., Victory Township, pleaded guilty May 2 to a general violation of the public health code and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and $125 in fines/costs. A charge of delivery/manufacturing between 5 to 45 kilograms of marijuana was dismissed.

-Charles Thomas Comstock, 21, of 237 6th Ave., Apt. 123, Manistee, pleaded guilty May 4 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must not operate a motor vehicle until legally able to do so; 12 months of probation and $285 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

Cristi Lei Gillies, 45, of 419 E. State St., Scottville, pleaded guilty May 4 to public nuisances and was sentenced to pay $245 in fines/costs and must fix the pump that caused the nuisance within 60 days.

-Jada Kim Wehlage, 48, of 2980 S. Schwass Rd., Riverton Township, pleaded guilty May 4 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to 30 days discretionary jail for one year; must not operate a motor vehicle until legally able to do so; 12 months of probation and $285 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Jason Scott Huggard, 31, of 1005 N. Custer Rd., Custer Township, pleaded guilty May 3 to allowing a person to drive in violation of the motor vehicle code and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; 12 months of probation and $335 in fines/costs.

-Typhannie Louise Gilman, 25, of 901 E. Maple St., Ludington, pleaded guilty May 4 to allowing a person to drive in violation of the motor vehicle code and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; 12 months of probation and $335 in fines/costs.

-Amanda Jean Dalzell, 45, of 179 Bonnie St., Ludington, pleaded guilty May 8 to allowing a person to drive in violation of the motor vehicle code and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; 12 months of probation and $335 in fines/costs.

-Charles Orlando White, III, 19, of 601 N. Rowe St., Apt. A, Ludington, pleaded guilty May 8 to allowing a person to drive in violation of the motor vehicle code and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and $335 in fines/costs.

-Julianita Esparza, 21, of 5634 W. Johnson Rd., Pere Marquette Township, pleaded no contest May 8 to allowing a person to drive in violation of the motor vehicle code and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance abuse evaluation; no drugs/alcohol; 12 months of probation and $585 in fines/costs.

-Travis Alan Vorase, 23, of 308 Fifth St., Ludington, pleaded guilty May 8 to improper license plates and operating an ORV on a utility row. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; 12 months of probation and $360 in fines/costs.

-Jonathan Herman Chambers, 46, of 901 N. Gaylord Ave., Ludington, pleaded guilty May 8 to improper license plates and was sentenced to pay $175 in fines/costs.

Dismissals

-James Lyn Casciaro, 45, no address listed, had a charge of stalking dismissed on May 3. According to court records, “The prosecution has been unable to communicate with the victim of the alleged offense, who has moved out of the area, therefore the people cannot prosecute the matter at this time.”
