Allied health students place at regionals, heading to state. 

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — Career & Technical Education (CTE) Allied Health students from West Shore Educational Service District will compete this week at the state competition in Traverse City. Earlier this year, the students competed at the Regional HOSA competition against other high school students.

Students competed in several categories including: CPR/first aid, physical therapy, HOSA quiz bowl, medical terminology, medical spelling, health career display and nurse assisting. The following students earned top placement in the following categories:

CPR/1st Aid:

1st place: Morgan Cook and Amari Rivera (Mason County Central)

2nd place: Moira O’Brian and Marissa Stickney  (Ludington High School)

3rd place Courtney Krause and Hunter Wiese  (MCC)

Physical Therapy:

1st place: Kenzy Hunter (LHS)

6th place: Macayla Coleman  (MCC)

HOSA Quiz Bowl:

1st place Allison Thompson and Kasey Eckstein (both LHS) and McKayla Haske and Michele Haske (Onekama)

5th place: McKayla Spearman, Kassidy Ward, and Ashlee Fettig  (Onekama)

Medical Terminology:

1st place: Amya Sikon (LHS)

3rd place Ariana Bayer (LHS)

5th place: Morgan Olson (LHS)

7th place: Danica Kreiner (LHS)

Nurse Assisting:

7th place: Jesse Mackowicki (LHS)

8th place: Jacob Shoop (MCC)

Medical Spelling:

1st place Deondra Mcdonald  (Baldwin)
