LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in 79th District Court at the Mason County Courthouse:

  • Tia Marie Wells, 36, of 501 Adams St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Mar. 22 to operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; must obtain substance abuse counseling; and $1,070 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). A charge of assault/resisting/obstructing a police officer was dismissed.
  • David Robert Southern, 38, of 926 S. Dennis Rd., Amber Township, pleaded guilty Apr. 4 to third-degree retail fraud (shoplifting) and was sentenced to 45 days in jail with credit for 45 days served.  Fines/cost suspended. Defendant must pay off fines/costs in prior matter.
  • Kery Linn Mahan, 21, of 112 Thornwild, Apt. A4, Scottville, pleaded guilty Apr. 4 to malicious destruction of a building and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no contact with the victim; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; must follow all recommendations of Community Mental Health and take all prescribed medications; must continue counseling with CMH; and $92.66 in restitution. A charge of disorderly person – window peeper was dismissed.
  • Craig Richard Peariso, 46, of 405 N. Thomas St., Scottville, pleaded guilty Apr. 4 to disorderly person – jostling and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must have anger management evaluation; and must abide by doctor’s orders. A charge of second-offense domestic violence was dismissed.
  • Alora Danielle Linthicum, 23, of 924 E. Tinkham Ave., Apt. 231, Ludington, pleaded guilty Apr. 4 to failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail for one year and $535 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
  • Christopher William Marcott, 33, of 2693 N. Victory Corner Rd., Victory Township, pleaded guilty Apr. 4 to operating while impaired by liquor (OWIL) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must obtain substance abuse counseling; and $870 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
  • Dismissals
  • Tenna Marie Bromley, 29, of 3160 N. 176th Ave., Walkerville, had a charge of insufficient check between $100 to $500 dismissed without prejudice on Apr. 7. Court documents indicate restitution has been paid.
  • Dennis Michael Hogendyk, 58, of 7079 Sandra Kay Rd., Fountain, had a charge of failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice n Apr. 7. According to court records, “Defendant pleaded guilty to lesser charge of no proof of insurance.”
  • Daniel Lee Bothwell, 40, of 321 James St., Apt.1, Ludington, had a charge of failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice n Apr. 5. According to court records, “Defendant pleaded guilty to lesser charge of no proof of insurance.”
  • J. Guadalup Rabadan-Flores, 51, of 2790 Evergreen Blvd., Bitely, had a charge of operating while license suspended dismissed on Apr. 5. According to court records, “Plead guilty to lesser sentence of allowing a person to drive in violation of the motor vehicle code.”
