Fire destroys garage, damages house in Victory Twp.

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — Multiple fire departments fought a house fire in the 400 block of West Dewey Road Wednesday afternoon. Scottville and Fountain fire departments were initially dispatched to the Herb and Beth Stenzel home about 1 p.m. According to witnesses, a brush fire apparently lost control and started the attached garage on fire. The fire then spread to the house.

Initial dispatch information indicated that the house was fully engulfed in flames.

Hamlin, Fountain and Custer fire departments were called to assist. Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies were also on scene.

FIrefighters remain on scene as of posting at 2:30 p.m.
