Obituary: Milda Martz, 85, Riverton Township.

Milda Marie Martz, 85, of Riverton Township, Scottville passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017. Milda was born on July 15, 1931 in Riverton, the only child of William and Marie (Ellis) Phillips. She attended St. Mary’s School in Riverton before graduating from Scottville High School. On December 20, 1952 she married Donald Martz in Ludington and they celebrated 47 years together before Don preceded her in death on August 12, 2000.
When she wasn’t working alongside Don on their farm in Riverton, Milda taught piano lessons in her home and served as a 4-H Leader in the community for over 35 years.
Milda will be lovingly remembered by her sons Chan Martz and Donald “Joe” Martz, both of Scottville, her grandsons: Joseph, Tyler, and Jordan Martz; her granddaughter Leyna Martz, and her sister-in-law Josephine Martz of Ludington, and Julia Morrell of Chicago, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held for Milda at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 13 at Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville. Burial will take place at Center Riverton Cemetery. Friends may greet her family for a time of visitation on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Those who wish to remember Milda with a memorial donation are asked to consider her family.
