RIVERTON TOWNSHIP — Five vehicles were involved in a crash on Chauvez Road Tuesday afternoon. The crash occurred about 5 p.m. when an eastbound pickup truck was attempting to make a left turn into the Indian Summer processing plant parking lot and was struck head-on by a westbound pickup truck, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. The westbound vehicle then struck three other vehicles parked in the plant’s parking lot. All vehicles suffered considerable damage, Cole said. One person was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the Sheriff said.

More details are expected later today.

Responding to the scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Riverton Fire Department, Ludington Fire Department, and Life EMS.
