PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — The Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications from charities that want to provide event volunteers and receive funding from proceeds accrued during from the 2017 Gus Macker 3-On-3 Charity Basketball tournament. Concessionaire applications are also being accepted. 

Completed charity applications are due in the Chamber of Commerce office by the close of business on Monday, April 24, 2017. Concessionaire applications are due no later than Tuesday, April 25. 

Applications can either be downloaded from the Chamber of Commerce website, www.ludington.org, or picked up at the Chamber office, 5300 W. US 10, Ludington, MI 49431.

Requests for funds will be reviewed and selected by the Gus Macker Charity Selection committee. Selections will be made taking into consideration the impact of the project/organization on the local communities.

The amount of money awarded to the designated charities or non-profit organizations will be dependent on the profitability of the overall tournament and the amount of volunteer effort provided by the charity.

The annual tournament is scheduled for June 17 and 18, 2017. The event will be held at Stearns Park with approximately 60 basketball courts set up to accommodate approximately 3,600 players, their families, and friends.
