CADILLAC — A former Mason County man was charged with five counts of sexual misconduct with a minor today in Wexford County. Timothy Morton, of Boon, was arraigned in 84th District Court with criminal sexual conduct first degree, CSC second degree, aggravated indecent exposure, indecent exposure, and child abuse third degree, according to Wexford County Prosecuting Attorney Jason Elmore.

Morton, 38, of 64 E. 38th St., Boon, was arrested by Michigan State Police. The charges stem from allegations that the violations took place over a four year period, 2012-2016, with a minor in Morton’s household between the ages of 13 to 16, Elmore said.

CSC first degree alleges penetration and is a felony punishable by up to life in prison. CSC second degree alleges contact and is a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Aggravated indecent exposure is a high court misdemeanor. Indecent exposure is a misdemeanor. Child abuse third degree is a felony punishable by up to two years in prison.

Bond was set at $250,000 cash/surety with a probable cause hearing scheduled for March 16 at 1 p.m.
