LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in 79th District Court:

-Joseph Michael Cook, 24, of 5180 W. Johnson Rd., Pere Marquette Township, pleaded guilty Jan. 10 to second-offense impaired driving and was sentenced to 58 days in jail with credit for 28 days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; must attend victims impact weekend; must seek and maintain employment; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs); must sell vehicle within 30 days and provide proof of sale to court; must attend alcohol highway safety education (AHSE); and $1,430 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). A charge of transporting an open intoxicant in a vehicle was dismissed.

-Jerimiah Jack Johnson, 26, of 494 S. Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township, pleaded no contest Jan. 10 to two counts of aggravated assault and was sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit for 30 days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; must obtain anger management counseling coupled with substance abuse counseling; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; subject to random drug tests; must not have any contact with the victim; must not have any contact with any known felons; and $1,115 in fines/costs.

-Mark David Grant, 26, of 3440 W. Johnston Rd., Amber Township, pleaded no contest Jan. 10 to assault and battery and was sentenced to 10 days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; must obtain anger management counseling; no contact with the victim; and $775 in fines/costs. May perform community service within eight months in lieu of fines/costs. A charge of malicious destruction of personal property was dismissed.

-Caleb John Bowman, 34, of 741 N. Dennis Rd., Amber Township, pleaded guilty Jan. 11 to disorderly person – jostling and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served, 90 days discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; must not possess any weapons; must continue outpatient counseling; and $285 in fines/costs. Two counts of domestic violence were dismissed.

-Steven Joseph Boss, 28, of 300 Melitzer St., Manistee, pleaded guilty Jan. 10 to third-degree retail fraud (shoplifting) and was sentenced to 37 days in jail with credit for 37 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; and $665 in fines/costs.

-Lidia Rocio Lopez, 19, of 606 E. Danaher St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Jan. 10 to disorderly person/disturbing the peace and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; 40 hours of community service; and $285 in fines/costs. A charge of domestic violence was dismissed.

-Timothy Dale Ferguson, 49, of 3797 W. Colburn Rd., Victory Township, pleaded guilty Jan. 10 to operating a vehicle with a high blood alcohol content and was sentenced to four days in jail with credit for four days served; 180 days of discretionary jail for two years; must attend victims impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; subject to random drug tests; must obtain outpatient counseling; and $1,533 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A charge of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

-James Roy Steiger, Jr., 45, of 309 W. First St., Scottville, pleaded no contest Jan. 10 to second-offense domestic violence and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; one year discretionary jail for two years; 60 hours of community service within four months; must complete outpatient counseling; and $1,451 in fines/costs.

-Brian Joseph Kokott, 34, of 2674 W. Victory Corners Rd., Victory Township, pleaded guilty Jan. 9 to allowing a person to drive in violation of the motor vehicle code and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; one year probation; and $335 in fines/costs. A charge of operating with a suspended license was dismissed.

-Michael Kenneth Frey, 25, of 1039 N. William St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Jan. 9 to allowing a person to drive in violation of the motor vehicle code and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; one year probation; and $335 in fines/costs. A charge of operating with a suspended license was dismissed.

-Luis Fernando Segura Barboza, 27, of 439 Beens Ct. SW, Grand Rapids, pleaded guilty Jan. 12 to driving while license not valid and was sentenced to pay $225 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
